Delmarva Chicken Houses is a spatial dataset developed by the ESRGC which identifies locations and operational status of chicken houses for fourteen Delmarva counties. The dataset was developed using the most recently available aerial imagery and remote sensing techniques and has not been verified through permit data or by other means. Chicken houses were digitized using imagery for Maryland (2016), Delaware (2017) and Virginia (most recent years for the State of Virginia imagery varies between 2013-2016). An operational determination (In Operation, Not in Operation, Unknown, or House Removed) was made based solely on the condition of the structure and its immediate surroundings. The square foot of the structure was calculated using a calculate geometry function within GIS software and also has not been verified.

The spatial dataset can be downloaded as a gdb for use in GIS software, as a map service in AGOL, and accessed via AGOL web mapping application along with imagery base layers.
