Land Use for Mid-Shore Counties
This interactive dashboard highlights the distribution of land use types across Caroline, Dorchester, and Talbot counties in the year 2010, using data from the Maryland Department of Planning.
Each county is represented by a donut chart that shows the relative proportions of four land use categories:
- Agriculture
- Forested
- Total Developed
- Other
The dashboard reveals differences in land use priorities and patterns across the Mid-Shore region. For instance, Caroline and Talbot counties both show a strong emphasis on agricultural land, while Dorchester County displays a more balanced mix between forested and agricultural uses.
This resource supports planners, conservationists, and land use researchers by providing a snapshot of how land was utilized at the county level during a key period of development and preservation planning.
Key Features:
- Donut charts for clear visual comparison
- Breakdown by county (Caroline, Dorchester, Talbot)
- Four-category land use classification
This resource is part of a series of dashboards developed to support the Mid-Shore Online CEDS.
