Housing Vacancy, Census 2020
Housing Vacancy (Census 2020) is an interactive web mapping application that visualizes residential vacancy rates across the Delmarva Peninsula using 2020 Decennial Census data. This tool allows users to explore housing patterns down to the block group level, offering insights into where housing units are occupied versus vacant.
With color-coded symbology representing the percentage of vacant units, users can quickly identify regions with higher or lower housing availability. This information is valuable for housing planners, policymakers, developers, and community organizations working to address housing needs, affordability, and resource allocation.
Key Features:
- Housing unit data for each census tract, block group, and block based on Census 2020
- Visual representation of total, occupied, and vacant housing units
- Pop-ups displaying percent vacancy and detailed housing unit counts
- Color gradient showing spatial distribution of vacancy rates
This map is a valuable tool for understanding housing dynamics and guiding strategic planning in response to regional development, housing shortages, or revitalization initiatives.
