Educational Attainment for Mid-Shore population 25 years and over
This interactive dashboard provides a detailed snapshot of educational attainment for residents aged 25 and over across Caroline, Dorchester, and Talbot counties in Maryland’s Mid-Shore region. Drawing from the U.S. Census Bureau’s 2019–2023 American Community Survey 5-Year Estimates, the dashboard shows how educational levels compare across the counties by degree type.
Users can explore stacked bar charts showing the number of adults holding:
- High School Diplomas (or equivalent)
- Associate’s Degrees
- Bachelor’s Degrees
- Graduate or Professional Degrees
For example, Talbot County leads the region in higher educational attainment, with over 6,600 residents holding a bachelor’s degree and 5,100 with a graduate or professional degree. In contrast, Caroline and Dorchester counties have higher proportions of residents whose highest level of education is a high school diploma.
The dashboard also offers a side-by-side table view for quick data comparisons across counties and education categories, helping stakeholders quickly assess both totals and relative distributions.
This tool is ideal for educators, grant writers, policy analysts, and regional planners working to align workforce development, higher education outreach, and community investment with local educational profiles.
Key Features:
- County-level breakdown: Caroline, Dorchester, Talbot
- Four tiers of educational attainment (High School, Associate’s Degree, Bachelor’s Degree, Graduate or Professional Degree)
